While some of them may look like walkie talkies or really tough devices that can take a wallop, these designs might just make it into the portofolio of a big company. I would be betting Sagem if they weren’t “bye, bye” or maybe Alcatel.

Magma Phone Concept Can Operate with 4 Sims

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Dual SIM phones are all the rage now and even handsets that can hold 3 SIM cards have turned up, but 4 sims is something extremely rare, if not a never tried before idea. Inspired by fire, the Magma phone was designed by Amit Vagyani and it features a keypad and touchscreen display.

Among its specs there’s up to 40GB extendable memory support, a 5 megapixel camera with 8x optical zoom, Bluetooth, infrared, Wi-Fi, twin CDMA and GSM. Its battery lasts 12 hours in active talk mode and this Magma handset measures 100 x 49 x 16 mm, weighing 60 grams. Who’s going to make a 5 SIM device?

Yw Li’s Concept Phone is a Clam… Clamshell

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.This concept phone is surely a fashion accessory for ladies, else it wouldn’t look so sexy, fashionable, haute couture, whatever you want to call it. Anything shaped like a clam or like something to help you powder your nose is surely a ladies’ accessory.

Have a look at that camera though, which I’m pretty sure can record video and has at least a 3 megapixel resolution. The keys of the device are placed in a circular pattern and if I were to take a lucky guess, the middle segment is a touchpad. Notice the tiny, tiny external display, probably used for incoming calls and text messages.

Thumbs up for the designer of the handset, Yw Li!

Microsoft oPhone Concept Will Destroy the iPhone… With Laughter

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Microsoft isn’t all about software, as it’s shy when it comes to announcing a Zune phone, but never too serious to get a laughter from its fans. The oPhone laughs in the face of the iPhone and it’s quite a hilarious device, as you can’t take it seriously, although some of the ideas and technologies it uses are quite nice.

This is a fold out variable device, that uses three different surfaces for input and a circular display. It runs Windows Mobile and Microsoft claims that once you open the handset, its three-wing shape will make it a perfect boomerang. One of its surfaces includes a full keyboard, another one includes a music player control and a wheel control plus a few buttons.

Okay, now back to Windows Mobile 7, Microsoft!

AT&T Announces Samsung Propel, Just Another QWERTY Slider

Samsung Propel will come with a QWERTY keypad, support AT&T Navigation, display some reasonably hot looks and it’ll hit the market with an $80 price tag (with contract and rebates).

The result is the iSsistant concept PDA phone, that allows you to listen to music, watch movies, talk on the phone, do some web browsing, all of these while using OS X apps.

The list of specs of this concept PDA phone includes a 1024 x 600 wide SVGA LCD touchscreen, WiFi 802.11g, Bluetooth, a 5 megapixel camera, 100GB of storage and an iPod music player. Underneath that white shell, we discover an Intel Core Solo processor U1300 (1.20 GHz), 1GB RAM and the above mentioned HDD (4200 rpm).
